IGL Coatings Joins the United Nations Global Compact, Strengthening Leadership in PFAS-Free Ceramic Coatings
13 August 2025
1 August 2025 – IGL Coatings (Ominent Sdn Bhd), a global pioneer in sustainable automotive and industrial surface protection solutions shares its latest update as a participant of the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative. This milestone highlights IGL’s commitment to driving responsible innovation and advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through eco-conscious product development.
As a participant, IGL Coatings pledges to align its operations with the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact covering human rights, labour, environmental stewardship, and anti-corruption. This move cements the company’s long-standing vision to integrate sustainability into every aspect of its business, from raw materials to final formulations.
“Participating in the UN Global Compact formalizes our mission to innovate responsibly,” said Keong Chun Chieh, CEO of IGL Coatings. “We have from the beginning advocated for greener, less hazardous formulas, and we continue to be committed to creating high-performance solutions that protect both surfaces, people and the planet.”
IGL Coatings PFAS-Free Ceramic Coatings
IGL Coatings’ shares that it is proud of its 100% PFAS-free formulations across its entire ceramic coatings and products range, not just in its recently launched Marine Solutions. PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) are under increasing global scrutiny for their persistence in the environment and potential health risks.
IGL’s PFAS-free formulations demonstrates its proactive approach to safer, greener chemistry. The company leverages advanced nanotechnology and proprietary resins to deliver exceptional durability and hydrophobic performance without relying on harmful fluorochemicals.
“Our internal research team has proven that you can achieve world-class performance without compromising environmental safety,” continues Keong.
Eco-Conscious Raw Materials including its latest Graphene Infinite Proshield+ Lumina introduction
In 2024, IGL Coatings introduced its first ceramic coating introducing Graphene Infinite, an eco-conscious graphene advance material, with its latest Graphene Infinite products launched on 31 July 2025, Window, EZ and Shield.
Other green material initiatives include:
- Low/zero-VOC formulations to reduce harmful emissions.
- Biodegradable surfactants and additives in cleaners and maintenance products.
- Innovative Technology formulas that reduce high-VOC solvents.
- Recyclable and reduced-plastic packaging to support a circular economy.

Looking Ahead
IGL Coatings will continue to showcase measurable impact through transparent reporting. Upcoming initiatives include reducing carbon emissions in manufacturing, and advancing circular economy practices, including establishing a youth programme for better economic opportunities.
